The Chopping Block's claim to fame is that with proper instruction it can transform anyone into a gourmet cook. Classes vary and are seasonal, ranging from summer barbecue themes to flavorful vegan cuisine. Classes tend to be on the small side so that each student may get personal attention. Guests may also book private parties, and they also have occasional classes for kids. A second location is in Lincoln Square.

Loved it! Had a great time and learned several things along the way. Instructors were wonderful and kind. No such thing as a silly question and never made you feel inadequate for asking. Lisa, Mario, Max, Eric, David, Sarah, and John were the nicest people. There was 12 of us in our class and we all enjoyed it so much. So much so, we all exchanged emails to keep in touch and share recipes. The location at the Mart was wonderful. But I understand we were the last class for that location as it was shutting down and I am sad for that! But they have another location and I am planning on taking Boot Camp II in September.

We had a blast! Great double date - Chef Max guided us through what we needed to know to make Parisian Delights - but he’s also just delightful to hang with and chat with! Sous chefs Crystal and Leah kept us on track (= rescued us!) and were super friendly and kind! We want to go there every night for dinner! 😍
