The Art of Pizza - Chicago

So many pizza joints in Chicago, so little time to eat them all. The Art of Pizza, located in Lakeview, gets accolades by local media (Chicago Tribune, Thrillist Chicago), offers deep-dish pizza by the slice and has been around for almost 30 years.

There are also daily specials at The Art of Pizza, and most are Italian focused. For example, Sunday features lasagna, Wednesday gets you chicken parm and Friday offers a baked mostaccioli dinner. Other non-pizza offerings are on the menu permanent menu, including chicken, ribs and deep-fried shrimp dinners.

Pizza is king, of course, at The Art of Pizza. Choose from thin crust and deep dish, with options like vegetarian, Hawaiian and a meaty delight (sausage, bacon, ground beef, pepperoni and sliced beef).

Art of Pizza is Chicago's best kept pizza secret and at ridiculously awesome prices. The crust is buttery without being greasy. They don't skimp out on toppings either. And I've never had a rude person at the counter - they all make you feel like they've known you for years!

One of my favorite pizza places in Chicago! The staff are always quick to take and fulfill orders. The pizza has always been reasonably priced and very high quality. A staple pizza joint for anyone looking for some good deep dish!

I had the stuffed special pizza slice. It was good but had some areas for improvements. It was lukewarm. It would have been so much better if it was hotter. Pizza was also juuuust a little doughy. Probably would have been less noticeable if it the pizza was hotter. Probably wouldn’t bother again.

Ordered a pan pizza that was decent. The crust is not as crispy and buttery as a typical pan pizza. Very cheesy though and the toppings were plentiful. Also got buffalo wings, fries, breaded mushrooms, carrot cake and chocolate cake. The buffalo wings and fries were good, but the breaded mushrooms were burnt and the cake was pretty dry with a pretty boring flavor. Honesty, for pan pizza, I'll stick with Pequods.

I really appreciate that there is a place in Chicago where i can purchase deep dish by the slice. These slices are delicious and filled with tasty meats and veggies!! IMO it rivals some of the more well known tourist favorites. Ill definitely be coming back for more.
