This is the best place there ever was. I grew up two blocks away from Susie's and will always remember the summer milkshakes, cheese fries, and smiles that...
This is an OK place to get a sandwich or a shake. The food is good, but nothing exceptional. Worth the price, I'd say, but I wouldn't make a special trip...
This is my go to place for lunch. The food is delicious. I love and die by the plain chicken sandwich side of gyro sauce. These are also hands down the best fries in the city. Customer service leaves a little to be desired but doesn’t bother me that much.
Susie's was the place to go since I was little. The cheese fries and banana splits were always to die for. My best friend and I would count out pennies just to get them. 411 pennies for a banana split to share... I moved out of state about 6 years ago and I've only been back twice. The first time was okay, but this last time was awful. The owner has always been extremely rude, but she's extra mean now. I understand she's ageing and probably stressed running a business, but she was immediately rude when she opened the window. She kept rushing us. If I wasn't on a nostalgia kick I would have left, but I really wanted those fries. I don't understand why she's always been cruel to the people keeping her in business, but it is what it is. The fries are not at all what they once were. The banana split shake was decent, but still not great. She was snapping at employees as usual. She wouldn't be understaffed as badly as she is if she'd just be kind. Despite it all, I'd be crushed if Susie's wasn't a thing anymore. Unfortunately I see it coming soon. The menu is so small now, she's meaner than ever, and the food isn't what it was. It was pretty depressing to see. Susie's was a huge part of growing up, but I don't think I'll be coming back unless I hear things have improved. I'm giving it 3 stars because I still have love for it, but I'm pretty disappointed.
Since late 80s I've visited Susie's. Fries are why I still stop by. They got rid of the Jr. Cheeseburger? It was small but tasty with those grilled onions! Service has always been less than pleasant. How are you? I would ask, with a snarled reply most of the time if you know who I'm referring to. Hours are horrible and sometimes, those aren't really honored? What's their end game with 3-7 for only 3 days when it used to be 24-7? Still love them fries and they owe me 2 large ones as they were closing and gave me some extremely salty ones?
