Hi – my name is Chef Soon and

I would like to introduce myself.

I am a Sushi Chef with over 20 years of experience, mostly in the Chicagoland area.

I am proud to have learned the trade under the guidance of Master Chef Matsumoto who is unarguably amongst the finest sushi chefs in the country. It is this learning and guidance that makes me want to excel and this attitude is on display in every dish I make.

I love making sushi and seeing a satisfied customer enjoying my creations and it was only logical for me to open my own restaurant where I could oversee both my passions and experience them come to fruition.

I look forward to seeing you at the restaurant – give us a try and you won’t be disappointed.

Can you believe that have this excellent vegan sushi???!!!??? So good! Their seaweed salad is phenomenal as well. I also recommend the plum wine! We love this place but only go 1-2 times a year (it’s expensive!). You don’t need a reservation but they’re always so busy so I recommend you make one! They have indoor and an enclosed patio. In the winter the patio is well insulated and they have heaters-very pleasant! They also have take out too. We have called ahead and picked up before (Valentine’s Day).

Are you looking for a sushi fix? Check out Chef Soon Contemporary Sushi & Bar - they are open for lunch and offer lunch specials! They have some of the best sushi in the area (in our opinion, of course). Chef Soon Contemporary Sushi & Bar also pride themselves on the freshest ingredients, or they won't serve it!

Food, fantastic. Drinks, top notch. Menu, creative. The menu had some unique choices which i had to try. The plating was superb and the owner/ manager came over and gave us a shot at the end of the meal. I was surprised at the new york city prices but in the end, worth it

Hands down the best sushi in the area. So fresh and gourmet, Chef Soon literally has fresh fish flown in from Japan. From Oyster Shooters, to Sashimi, to Salads, to Maki rolls. Always an enjoyable time out. Sushi is so fresh and well prepared that you never need to add any sauces.

Best sushi I've had since Okinawa! The chefs were so friendly and the atmosphere was very elegant. For a second I thought I was in the city. We ordered the Seven Bridges and Summer. Both were amazing with so many flavors. I'm so happy I tried the Summer one, lovely lemon flavor 🍋 We'll definitely be back!

Hands down one of the best sushi places around. Always super fresh and the rolls/nigiri Chef Soon comes up with are innovative and delicious. We try to come here at least once a month to get our sushi fix because nowhere else can do it better unless you get downtown in Chicago, and it’s still comparable to some of the best in the city! Do not sleep on this place.

Stopped here w my daughter today and it is a bit expensive (what sushi isn’t though) but oh man is the sushi amazing!!!! Waitress was great and we didn’t wait long at all for our drinks and food. Nice, clean, modern decor. I had the California and she had the King Kong. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves or even likes sushi.

So so good! I was in town from CA visiting family and craved some sushi. This place did not disappoint! The server was lovely, suggesting rolls and apps, and her suggestions were spot on. Would highly suggest reservations, as it was busy and we went early.

Its not the first time we order, but this last time was a disaster. The sushi is very expensive, and every time they get smaller and smaller. Very dissapointed. Theres nothing to eat. Waist of money

Amazing sushi! We love sushi and this has probably become our new favorite place! Everything was so fresh and flavorful. Customer service was also amazing. We had a great time overall. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Awesome Japanese restaurant. I lived in Japan for an a number of years add truly enjoyed the options on the menu. Oyster shooters are a great way to start off your meal. Given the excellent food and ambience it is not surprising the price is on the high end but worth it,

Food was good but minus two stars for bad communication and timing. I called at 6:40 to place a carry out order. I was told 45-60 minutes and then before hanging up it changed to 30-45 minutes. I arrived at the restaurant 35 minutes later at 7:15. I thought maybe it would be ready or if not it would only be a short wait. The hostess told me it was actually back to 45 minutes, if I wanted to wait in my car for the remaining 15 minutes they would bring the food out to me. At 8:00 I still did not have my food and I called the restaurant from my car for an update. It came out about 5 minutes after that. I understand that restaurants get busy but an hour and 25 minutes is unacceptable when the original quote was 30-45. Or 60 max. Plus the only communication was when I asked for it. At no point did anyone attempt to update me. Had I known the real time was 85 minutes I probably would have switched to a delivery order and definitely wouldn't have sat in the parking lot for an hour.
