Established in 1977, the Rosebud has grown from a single Little Italy restaurant to a restaurant empire. This suburban location offers all the typical Rosebud standards of generously portioned of home-style Italian food, such as fish salad, pappardelle pomodoro ("Square Noodles" in tomato basil sauce), chicken Vesuvio and sausage and peppers.

We came into town for a business meeting and dined at Chicago Prime Italian (new name). We enjoyed our service and the wait staff was courteous. The food was outstanding...if I had a complaint is that it was too much food and not convenient for us to take home leftovers. Perhaps what took our experience over the top was when I forgot my iPhone at the restaurant. When, I called not only was the phone still there (never can tell if the next customer may pocket it), but the manager took the time to bring it to my hotel. Can't say enough for the extra mile they went! :) Thumbs Up!

I dined at Rosebuds Old World Italian for Christmas dinner with my family. First, we had 7pm reservations, but were not seated until 25 minutes later. We ordered the mussels appetizer; calamari; lasagna; chicken marsala; creme brulee; cappuccinos. First the mussels were not fresh, to the point were the fishy taste made them unbearable. The rest of the food was bland and overpriced. Finally, when we received our cappuccinos, we asked for sugar and were told that the restaurant did not have any sugar!!! What? Bottom line, this location is a big let down and very different from the original Chicago Rosebuds. I will NOT dine here again.

Here is my review…..On Friday November 22, 2013 my daughter and I went to this restaurant as we usually do when I fly into town. But….this time I got food poisoning. Within 45 minutes after eating my Penne with veal and meat, bingo. I know food poisoning because I had it from three other restaurants in my lifetime. I could hardly make it back to her house which is only around the corner. I emailed the restaurant 3 times but no one every got back to me. My blood pressure dropped from dehydration and I was sick all night. No one should have to go through this. No response from Rosebud. Do they care? I think not. Will never go there again. I don't recommend this place anymore. Shame!

Rosebud has good expensive food. I've gone in on Monday when they seemed to be extremely busy and I was seated very quickly after being asked for a reservation and I didn't have one. This looks like a hoppin' place for an older generation that can afford it. The lighting is dim (at least on Monday's), the service says Sir a lot. Average meal per person seems to be $15+. If that sounds like the place for you, then give it a shot!
