Red Hen Bread - Milwaukee Avenue - Chicago
Founded by Riverside native Nancy Carey in 1997, Red Hen has grown to be Chicago's premier artisan bread bakery, handcrafting European-style loaves, croissants, muffins and more. You'll find Red Hen's bread in the basket at many of Chicago's top restaurants, as well as at a variety of retail stores.
The bakery also maintains two cafes, this original in Wicker Park and a second location in Lincoln Park, where you can start the day off with a latte or cappuccino, or stop in for a fresh deli sandwich, in addition to buying fresh bread to take home.
