Publican Anker - Chicago
The third outpost for Publican is located in Wicker Park, only a few steps away from sister restaurants Big Star, Dove's Luncheonette and The Violet Hour. Publican Anker, however, offers a completely different menu from its predecessors, which includes a gourmet-style pub burger.
Paying homage to the early 20th century bars and breweries in Wicker Park, Publican Anker specializes in rustic American fare and craft beer. There's plenty of seafood to be had on the menu, beginning during happy hour 3:30-5pm.
Oysters, of course, are a great starter to every meal. There's also smoked mackerel, swordfish sausage, mussels and trout. And those looking for more meatier options should also be pleased with the selections ranging from half-roasted chicken to blood sausage with dried chile.
