Pensiero Ristorante is the latest incarnation of Va Pensiero, started in 1989 by then-Chef/Owner Peggy Ryan. After a 2010 reconcepting under proprietor Michael W. Pure, owner of Evanston's Margarita European Inn, where Pensiero resides, Pensiero Ristorante strives to continue its reputation with contemporary Italian food made from the finest ingredients from around the globe paired with locally sourced products prepared thoughtfully and innovatively.

I recently hosted a client event for 18 people in Va Pensiero's private room. The service and food were outstanding. Luis and his service staff were very professional and attentive. The staff made certain that all of the guests were taken good care of during the cocktail hour and throughout the evening. The passed hors d'overes (chef's selection) were very good and nice warmup for our meal. The dinner and wine selection were also very good. Luis managed an excellent evening and we would definitely go there again. Thanks for the great evening
