Music Box Theatre

saw tampopo and ratatouille here for the “part of good taste tastes good” movie selections which let me say was so much fun! the theatre has reasonable prices and is such a cute place. inside the movie rooms are gorgeous and both the screen and sound are good quality. it’s defiantly somewhere I’d want to come back to and recommend anyone to try !

You gotta visit this place at least once in your life man. Been coming here since Once Upon A Time In Hollywood on 70m and I've been hooked ever since. Had some of the best theater experiences in my life here. Couldn't recommend it enough.

Cat video fest. Not for everyone, but is an adorable event held each year. They're itself is vintage. Before the film started a gentleman played a beautiful organ. Old timey fun, and he is extremely talented! In this crazy world, this was a feel good experience.

Many thanks to senior manager Kyle Cubr and the staff at Music Box for helping us coordinate an unforgettable premiere. The lengths they went to accommodate us were quite astounding and truly appreciated. We are so grateful and hope to book again soon. This is an amazing venue and our guests can’t stop talking about the wonderful evening they had.

The people running this theater do an amazing job. It’s beautiful, Old, We’ll maintained and the best place to see older films as well as new art house cinema. They also serve Beer/Wine\Cocktails and have a cafe next door.

Terrific theater. Reminded me of a few movie theaters I went to when I was a kid. I saw Airport and Brainstorm as part of the theater's 70MM Film Festival. The experience of seeing these movies on the big screen for the first time was mesmerizing. The movies looked great and sounded fantastic. And they should since the look and sound was improved for the 70MM experience. I'll definitely return to this theater to see more classic films and look forward to the 70MM Film Festival again next year.

Fantastic cinema experience, best in Chicago. Get there early… Order a martini or old fashioned before hand, grab some popcorn, and head in. For bigger screenings they roll out an organist to play show tunes before the show! Special mentions for the 70mm screenings and midnight shows… always a fantastic experience. If you are hungry before/after then check out Tango Sur for cheap Argentinian steak.

Loved it! Great ambiance, relaxed vibe. We were only at the bar area but the movie offerings will bring us back.

So my partner loves movies. Loves the theater. Loves 35mm. Loves all the nerdy stuff I enjoy but can’t explain. So what better gift than to celebrate his bday with a private screening at the Music Box Garden/Lounge. Not only was Music Box accommodating, they went above and beyond. Big shout out to Kyle Cubr for putting up with our emails, Matthew for making our whole party feel welcome (and moving seats for us), and the bar staff on 5/6/22 for patiently providing the appropriate libations and water to our party. 10/10. All the yelp stars. Give them an Oscar.

Best theater in the city. The rich history, the friendly staff, and of course the movies. I happily take that nearly 2 hour commute as often as I can. A mandatory stop for any film buff that visits Chicago.
