Italian Village - Chicago
Opened in 1927 by Alfredo Capitanini, and still run by his family, the Italian Village is home to three restaurants, The Village, La Cantina and Vivere. The Village is the oldest Italian restaurant in Chicago.
It offers a menu of classic Italian-American fare, including lasagna, chicken cacciatore, pork chops, chicken Vesuvio, veal scaloppine, house-made pastas and an award-winning list of nearly 1,000 wines. The restaurant is also known for its late-night dining menu.
Italian Village's location across from PrivateBank Theatre (home of "Hamilton-The Musical") makes it convenient for pre- and post-show dining. Guests may leave their cars with the restaurant's valet while they're enjoying the theater.
