Ironside Bar & Galley - Chicago

A comfortable sports bar in River North, complete with value-driven, scratch-made food and craft beverages has opened in the former Cyrano's Farm Kitchen space.

Ironside owner-operator Jon Mossberger and his business partner in the project, Steve Mayer, also own and operate Flagship Tavern & Grill in Lakeview and The Stretch in Wrigleyville. Scott Horwitch – former general manager of The Underground in River North and Faith & Whiskey in Lincoln Park – is a partner in the Ironside project as well.

Ironside, whose name derives from the nickname of the U.S.S. Constitution, "Old Ironsides," boasts the look and feel of a ship turned upside down. The interior design is industrial, not boat or nautical themed. Beneath the main floor of Ironside is a smaller and more intimate basement bar area as well.

The management was SUPER friendly! Went while there was a lot of hockey fans that were very excited for the game they were watching - not my scene but was kinda of fun to watch them. The bartender was okay, more focused on a couple of friends that bought her a shot that she drank when she knew the management was not watching. I think she relied on wearing almost no clothes (daisy duke shorts with fishnet stockings) more than her bartending abilities for tips. Giving four instead of three stars since the management even told us that it was a different crowd than normal and they were super friendly to us. I would give it a chance again in the future and hope for better bartender.

Good spot to watch a sports game. The DJ transitioned between game audio during the game and music during the commercials which was a really nice touch. Cheap beer ($4 domestic) when you get a bucket is a plus as well. Food was pretty standard bar food at regular prices. Relative to other spots in River North it's pretty cheap and you aren't sacrificing any quality.

It was a great place to celebrate a party from 2pm -6pm for 30 people. Service and food was great. No valet service but park at nearby self park parking lot.

It is a good neighborhood bar, with a good burger good beer list and especially a really really good grilled cheese. I go regularly and would recommend it to anyone - but probably wouldn't suggest traveling very far to get here. If you are in the area though? Check it out.

I was a part of a bar crawl recently and Ironside was our first stop, which was the perfect setup. Ironside emits a cool and carefree vibe. Everyone loved that one whole side of the wall was out which allowed an amazing breeze and for people to come and go off the patio. Deimante was the absolute best manager, she took care of us and made sure our schedule was kept. I would and have gone back to Ironside, and not because the drinks are absolutely delicious ;)

In from out if town looking for a place to watch the New England Patriots game. Found out that reservations are needed. We lucked out when someone canceled. Rough looking place but everyone there was there to watch the Pat's! Food was fair. Wings were good but don't bother with chips and salsa.

Got the Jalapeño burger and a bucket of beers to watch the Patriots game. They had a live DJ spinning beats during commercial breaks and when the good guys (Pats) won, free shots on the House and a giant blast from their confetti cannon. Not only was the atmosphere & service great, but the food was awesome too! My jalapeño burger was the perfect amount of kick and suuuper flavorful. Well cooked meat, super awesome toppings (spicy homemade pickles), and fries that were crispy and salty. I’ll definitely be back again for another game. A+

Great place to catch a game. The service was great, they had a wide variety of beers. Didn't try any of the cocktails but they looked pretty good. Would recommend if you're looking for a place with good vibes and solid drinks.
