What well known restaurant charges a $40 minimum for a credit card transaction?? THE HARD ROCK CAFE IN CHICAGO. We flew down from CO for Memorial Day weekend and attended a private event on that Sunday at the Hard Rock. I wanted to get me and my girlfriend a drink. But we were told by the bartender that there was a $40 minimum for EVERY Credit Card transaction!?! We’ve been to other Hard Rocks around the country and not one does this. Most people including myself were forced to pay cash unless we wanted to blow a full $40 on drinks or food that we didn’t want. Why? Are they pocketing the cash?? Note to Corporate: look into cash revenue at the Chicago hard rock. It looks like their management is up to something shady.

Food and service excellent. Our waitress Jasmine was warm and friendly. The café was fairly quiet when we visited on a Monday night. We tried to visit the day before but it was closed for a private event. You can’t really go wrong with Hard Rock Cafe for good food, a nice atmosphere and a cool gift shop with locally-themed clothing and accessories. I got a souvenir glass for my cocktail which was Chicago-specific. A nice touch.

Today was our first time ever in Chicago, and at a Hard Rock Cafe. Staff from the moment we entered was friendly, let us know where to find stuff and our Server Dan, was amazing! I got a mini Oreo milkshake (to die for) and my drink was a mango berry drink also (to die for). My wife ordered a country burger which was a little too well done, but outside of that was great. Their fries were amazing. I ordered the chick Mac n cheese pasta, which my first dish came out and there was a hair in it. But Dan and the manager corrected it right away, brought me a new dish and even comped it off our ticket even though I never even asked them too. It was honestly a genuinely great experience and I would highly recommend this location!
