Grass Fed

Grass Fed - Chicago

Grass Fed’s not the type of Chicago steakhouse attracting the local power brokers and visiting movie stars. Instead, it serves as a casual neighborhood eatery for those frequenting Bucktown and Wicker Park.Filling them with Prime cut Steak.

The restaurant focuses on all-natural meats as well as seasonal and local ingredients. And though you won’t find as many steak options typically served at most steakhouses, the sirloin is sourced from farms in Wisconsin and Missouri. It’s also 100-percent grass fed with choices like the prime grilled steak salad (with mushrooms, Romaine lettuce, tomatoes, blue cheese and balsamic vinaigrette) and Prime New York strip. Their burgers are the top in Bucktown. There’s also a daily pre-fixe menu that comes with grilled sirloin, a market salad and pomme frites.

Non-steak faves include chorizo-enhanced mussels, roast Amish chicken, the grass fed burger, and tagliatelle pasta accompanied by sweet potatoes, basil, mushroom sauce and parmesan.

The beverage menu falls in line with Grass Fed’s local and organic focus. Cocktails are seasonal, using local, fresh ingredients and small-batch spirits; craft beers also originate from smaller producers; and the wine selections follow the same pattern.

Seating is mostly communal, offering an even friendlier atmosphere, and diners may also eat at the bar. The restaurant is open for brunch, lunch and dinner.
