Chicagoans take their brunch outings pretty serious, which is why it's no surprise Fremont is at the top of the crop for its unique dining program for weekend warriors. Most weekends boast a waiting list for reservations, which they claim can be up to a month.
That's because the buffet-style event, which happens Saturday and Sunday, is $40 for a hearty carving station, plus smoked brisket, doughnut wall filled with gourmet treats, waffle bar, omelet station and boozy desserts.
Fremont is equally popular with the dinner crowd. There's the signature hot fried chicken platter, which comes with ramen-crusted buttermilk chicken, a Belgian-style waffle, white cheddar mac & cheese, creamy slaw, hot sauce and bourbon maple butter. Other hit dishes are prime burger, pulled chicken sandwich and buffalo cauliflower tacos.
The establishment is owned by Four Corners Tavern Group, which is also behind Federales, Steakbar and Schoolyard Tap.
