I won't be back. I love a fancied-up encased meat as much as the next guy, but Franks 'n' Dawgs is trying a little hard. When you can't even taste the meat for all the toppings… But! BYOB is great, and the back patio is lovely on a nice day.

Super yummy! The creations they come up with are amazing. I highly recommend their fries as well as their spicy ketchup. I'm a sucker for artisan sausage. The buns are classic split top, which make the experience all the better. A great place to bring friends, even if they aren't neccessarily into hot dogs.

You order at the register, pay, and get to pick your "celebrity card" - a magnetic laminated picture of a celebrity, movie star, or local hero - so the food can find its way to your table. The pretzel-coated cheese curds are not to be missed. Honestly everything off of the appetizer menu is sinfully rich and amazing. Meals in themselves, those items. The originality of the Dawgs is great. I crave this place - I need to run a few miles and head that way soon!

If you are looking to have fun with your hot dog, try this place. Great variety of sausages and toppings and combinations, everything is fresh and delicious, made with good ingredients. My favorite is trying chef's creation hot dogs. Notable Chicago chefs occasionally create some inspired combos, featuring from runny egg to duck sausage, to crazy toppings. Those are always fun to try!

A high class twist on a low class favorite. Interesting twist to turn hot dogs into a gourmet option. Don't get the truffle mac n cheese dog. Get a different hot dog and then get the truffle mac n cheese on the side. That way you can experience more variety during your visit. My favorite is the black sheep.
