Artopolis Bakery, Cafe & Agora
Opened in 2000 by the owners of Pegasus up the street, Artopolis is different in both style and substance from most Greektown restaurants. The combination cafe, bar, bakery and gift shop, open from morning till late evening, offers wood-fired Greek specialties, sandwiches and global pastries. They specialize in "artopitas," savory ovals of crisp puff pasty with fillings such as fresh spinach and feta; smoky Black Forest ham with spinach and kasseri cheese; or mushrooms mixed with kasseri and emmenthal. This bustling spot also offers a variety of Greek dishes from an open kitchen, a full range of delectable European-style desserts to eat in or take out, coffees, drinks, free wifi and much more. The one drawback is that you'll have to hunt for parking.
