Intelligentsia Coffee is one of Chicago's preeminent sources for locally roasted coffee. Along with multiple cafe locations, the hub of the business is the Fulton Street Roasting Works. The facility, while not a retail location, houses a lab, training room, coffee storage, screen printing workshop, and headquarters. The facility hosts public tours to get coffee-lovers up close and personal with the roasting process. The tour is a little over an hour and usually takes place on the first Saturday of the month. The first tour begins at 10:30 a.m., and the second at 12:30 p.m. Admission is $20 and includes all the coffee you can drink, plus a half pound bag of coffee.
