Crown Fountain

Crown Fountain, located in Millennium Park, is one of the most popular attractions for tourist families. It's an interactive work of art and video sculpture designed by Catalan artist Jaume Plensa and opened in 2004. The illustrious fountain features a black granite reflecting pool between a pair of glass brick towers. The towers are 50-feet tall and display video images behind fountains, which operate between May and October. This fountain is highly unique in Chicago in that it encourages interaction in the water, making it a popular spot for kids. Images on the towers rotate frequently and depict scenery as well as images of local residents' faces.
