Dining Chicago

Clarke House Museum

The Clark House Museum, located at the Henry B. Clark House in the South Loop, is a Greek Revival-style facility operated by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs. Guided tours are available at the museum, which explores the history of Henry B. Clarke, who came to Chicago in 1833 to establish a hardware company and provide building materials for the burgeoning city. The building is the city's oldest house, depicting what life was like for a family in Chicago during its formative years, when much of the area was still prairie. Tours are offered Wednesday through Sunday.
