Chicago Children's Museum

The Chicago Children's Museum is one of the premier family-friendly destinations in Chicago, and it just so happens to be located on the most popular tourist spot in Chicago: Navy Pier. Founded in 1982, the museum was originally housed in the Chicago Public Library, but eventually required a bigger space due to the increased crowds. Its new home on Navy Pier is 57,000 square feet of family fun, making it one of the largest children's museums in the country, with three floors of educational exhibits, public programs, and special events. Admission is free for those 15 and under every Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and all day on the first Sunday of each month.
