Dining Chicago

Biograph Theater

The Biograph Theater earned its stripes as a national curiosity, and more important, as a designated Chicago landmark after famed bank robber John Dillinger was gunned down in front of it on July 22, 1934. There's a section inside what's now the Richard Christiansen Theatre where tourists may gawk in amazement at news clippings and other treasures from that era.

The building was designed in 1914 by Samuel N. Crowen, an architect known for his classically detailed designs, and is also on the National Register of Historic Places.
