Adler Planetarium

Explore the universe around you with a trip to Adler Planetarium, a place filled to the brim with artifacts and instruments as well as daily activities to participate in! In 1930, the planetarium opened, making it the first in the Western Hemisphere. Now, it has three full-size theaters including the Grainger Sky Theater, the Definiti Space Theater and the newly renovated Samuel C. Johnson Family Star Theater. The museum's theaters offer eight unique shows to choose from with show times starting every fifteen to thirty minutes. The Adler Planetarium is a recognized leader in science education, with a focus on inspiring young people, particularly women and minorities, to pursue careers in science.
