Uncle Fatty’s Rum Resort and The Coach House in Lakeview host the “I Love Cover Bands” Winter Music Festival Monday, Jan. 25, through Sunday, Jan. 31. The weeklong fest features 18 cover bands, seven DJs, drink specials and contests, with a $5 cover charge each night. Wilco’s Oct. 18 hometown show at UIC Pavilion is already sold out, and tickets for the 19th are going fast, but at press time there were seats left for front man Jeff Tweedy’s solo performance at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, in Edgewater. A benefit for Emanuel Congregation, the concert takes place at the temple. Rosemont isn’t one of our favorite places, but somehow, between O’Hare and all the hotels and businesses around it, we wind up there pretty often. One of our mainstays has always been Harry Caray’s. Between the pastas, Italian fare, burgers and steaks, there’s something to satisfy everyone, and prices range from $12 for spaghetti [...] |
