The Windy City Rib Classic still has a few slots open for competitors in its barbecue contest. Founded by Barn & Company Pitmaster Gary Wiviott and Jared Leonard of Rub BBQ Company, the met takes place Aug. 12 at Theater on the Lake in Lincoln Park. Top prize is $1,000. Contest registration is $250.
