Chicago’s Newest Brunch Menus

As brunch continues to dominate the world, there’s more and more spots serving the weekend meal throughout Chicago these days. From an expansion of a Soho House favorite to brand new restaurants, here are the latest spots across town to brunch.

.

The Allis: An extension of The Allis cafe and bar in the Soho House lobby, the West Loop property just extended their lounge and dining space for the public up to the northern mezzanine area. This not only includes a massive expansion of space, but a wider array of menu offerings. Chief among those menus is brunch and all-day breakfast items. Expect an abundance of pastries and baked goods, grain dishes, berry bowls, pancakes, smoked salmon, and more substantial egg dishes on weekends.

.

Raised: Hot on the heels of a successful first summer, the third-floor rooftop bar Raised has rolled out its new early fall menus for the season. This includes a brand new array of brunch dishes, like banana bread tempura (!) sprinkled with banana whipped cream, cocoa nibs, and walnuts; avocado toast with truffle mushrooms, arugula, and poached egg; crab Benedict with Johnny cakes and hollandaise; and more.

.

The Tankard: Brand new to Bucktown, The Tankard is wasting no time jumping in head-first with weekend brunch. Available on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., The Tankard’s menu covers all the essential brunch favorites, from savory to sweet. Try the sausage muffin with pepper Jack cheese, scrambled egg and fresh fruit, or the Mexican omelette with chorizo, pepper Jack, peppers, onions, and tomatoes. Crepes come with mascarpone, blueberries, and triple berry sauce, while steak and eggs pairs a sirloin with two eggs and roasted potatoes. To drink, drink deals include $15 domestic beer buckets, $20 Carlsberg buckets, $8 Bloody Marys, and $6 mimosas.

.

Taco Joint: Insanely popular in the evening, Taco Joint is about to give diners more to love with the introduction of weekend brunch. Especially considering their “Bottomless Brunch” package, which features choice of any brunch entree with unlimited beverages for $32 per person. Menu items to choose from run the gamut from chicken chilaquiles and breakfast burritos to steak & eggs and carnitas pancakes, while beverages include margaritas, micheladas, Bloody Marias, Mexican beers, coffee, and more. Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

The Dearborn: A relative newcomer to the Loop’s dining scene, The Dearborn is quickly cementing itself as a neighborhood go-to in the downtown district. The latest addition to the restaurant’s portfolio, brunch service, is sure to solidify that sentiment. Especially considering the caliber of cooking courtesy of chef Aaron Cuschieri and pastry chef Courtney Joseph. Items on the menu borrow inspiration from classic brunch and breakfast items, each one decidedly elevated. There’s duck and 62˚ eggs with jalapeño-cheddar grits; chicken fried chicken and eggs; a 50-day dry-aged rib-eye with two eggs; and even French toast with foie gras.
