Rosh Hashanah Menu at Bistronomic

You know it’s really fall when the holidays start to trickle in. First up is Rosh Hashanah, which Bistronomic is celebrating with a special three-course menu from October 2 through October 4, beginning at 5:00 p.m. each night. The special menus combine chef Martial’s penchant for seasonality and local sourcing with traditional flavors of the Jewish New Year, such as apples, pomegranates, fish, beets, and honey. Items on the tasting include Chioggia and golden beet salad, prime beef short ribs, and apple challah bread pudding. Vegetarian options are also available. The price is $39 per person, or a two-course meal is also available for $32 per person. Guests get to select one dish from each course to customize.

Missouri 2.0 Menu at Chicago q

Rotating themed menus are nothing new in Chicago. They happen regularly at Next, Sixteen and a few others. But what Chicago q is doing is quite unique and exciting. Continuing their “q-Tour” program, the Gold Coast barbecue bastion has rolled out its Missouri 2.0 menu, which adjoins its regular menu with a variety of dishes directly inspired by a group trip to Missouri barbecue regions for research. Under pitmaster Art Smith, the q-Tour is a new series wherein Smith and co. venture to different barbecue regions of the country, unearthing techniques, traditions, and flavors, and then bringing it back to Chicago. Every six months, it’s off to a new region. Along with a couple items off their first Missouri menu, like prime brisket burnt ends and prime Angus beef ribs, the new menu features dishes like a KC pastrami sandwich and the q-Bano, which features housemade salami, pulled pork, q-jardiniere, Swiss cheese, mustard, and toasted French bread. Go and get a taste today!
