Learn about luscious French desserts with Chicago’s top patissieres. The The French Pastry School in the Loop launches another series of its “Tasting Series” classes with “Restaurant-Style Desserts: A Menu of Chocolaty French Favorites,” at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13.

Chef Patrice Caillot, a World Pastry Champion, will demonstrate bittersweet dark chocolate souffle, single-origin dark chocolate mousse and warm dark chocolate lava cake in a sweet tasting paired with champagne.

The $75 class includes the cooking demonstration, tastings of all recipes prepared, a beverage pairing, recipes and a gift to take home.

Upcoming classes include: “The Gift of Homemade: Classic Sugar Confections for the Holidays, “Oct. 18, with Caillot; “Magnificent Macarons: Learn the Secrets of the Parisian Petit Four,” Nov. 1, with Chef Jacquy Pfeiffer; and “The Gift of Homemade: The Best Holiday Pies and Tarts,” Nov. 22, with Chef Joshua Johnson.
