Pastry chefs square off

Thomas Raquel of Acadia in the Loop competes against Melissa Coppel of Jean-Marie Auboine Chocolatier in Las Vegas, Chris Ford of Wit & Wisdom in Baltimore and Philip Speer of Uchi in Austin, Texas, in the Emmy award-winning Chicago Restaurant Pastry Competition “Season Two: National Chefs.”

In the show, four chef finalists make eight servings of a plated dessert as well as compete in a mystery challenge with frozen, plated desserts. The competition showcases the reality of a pastry kitchen, rather than TV drama and glamor.

Judges are Della Gossett from The French Pastry School, Dana Cree from Blackbird and Curtis Duffy from Grace.
