Still need a bird for your Thanksgiving table?

Many local supermarkets will be able to help you out, even tomorrow, with a fresh turkey you can cook in the morning or even an already cooked bird, but for something different, check out Jive Turkey, a Morgan Park pop-up that offers 15 flavors of whole, deep-fried turkey, plus all the fixings.

They’ll be open till 9 p.m. tonight and until 3 p.m. tomorrow, and you can just walk in and buy a 10- to 12-pound gobbler for $75.50. Flavors include Jamaican jerk, orange zinfandel, fresh herb, honey pecan, Vidalia onion, peach bourbon, Cajun, BBQ, roasted garlic, lemon pepper, Mexican mole, Peking, cranberry red wine and Buffalo.

Jive Turkey’s pop-up store will be closed on Friday but will reopen for sales throughout December, so if you’re already set for Thanksgiving, you can order for Christmas. They’ll deliver locally and also offer shipping.

Another option might be Cajun turkey from Popeye’s: 9- to 11-pound turkeys are seasoned with Louisiana-style spices, flash-fried and then roasted. Limited numbers are available at selected locations for $39.99 in this once-a-year option. Check the link for locations with turkeys. Stores will be open on Thanksgiving, but call first. Many locations are sold out.
