Local pork, Italian wines and Asian cuisine come together Thursday, Nov. 8, at PL8 Simply Asian in Barrington.

And when they say local, they really mean local. The pork comes from Barrington Natural Farms, just 10 minutes from the restaurant.

PL8 owner Ed Culleeney and Chef Sean Grady personally picked out the Berkshire hog for for the five-course dinner, which will include such items as ribs prepared two ways — soy- and hoisin-glazed sticky baby back ribs and dry-rubbed five-spice salt St Louis ribs — and crispy spiced pork belly. wines

Sergio Valsecchi
, an expert fromWinebow/Vintage Wines, will present the libations. Cliff McConville, owner of Barrington Natural Farms, will attend to talk about his farm and pasture-raised pork.

The dinner starts at 6 p.m. and costs $60.
