Wentz in Wonderland: Green Tie Ball celebrates 21st year

Rock artist Pete Wentz of Black Cards and Fall Out Boy will DJ at this year’s Green Tie Ball, slated for Sept. 15 at A. Finkl & Sons, 2011 N. Southport Ave., Chicago. A whimsical “Alice in Wonderland” theme will feature at the 21st annual fundraiser hosted by Chicago Gateway Green, a nonprofit promoting urban beautification and sustainability in Chicago. Valerie Warner and Ryan Chiaverini, co-hosts of ABC7’s “Windy City Live!” emcee the event.

Sign up for the VIP cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and visit the “Wonderland” tent with a mobile Mad Hatter DJ playing an array of musical instruments while red and white table ladies pass hors d’oeuvres. The reception offers premium open bars with specialty cocktails, a live auction and special gifts for guests.

Once the the gala begins at 8:30 p.m., graze on appetizers on floating trays passed out by white rabbits as well as samples from more than 60 exceptional Chicago restaurants selected by Dining Chicago’s own Food Dude, David Lissner.

Watch a private performance by Redmoon Theater and dance to Chicago cover bands Dr. Bombay and South of 80 as well as tunes spun by Wentz, Rock City and other DJs. Try your luck in the casino tent sponsored by Rivers Casino featuring roulette, blackjack, craps and a silent auction. Winnings from the casino games will go towards raffle tickets.

Tickets start at $135 in advance. All proceeds will go to Chicago Gateway Green.
