Make the most of strawberry season at Epic class



Strawberry season is here!

And Chef Mark Pollard of Epic in River North wants to help you make the most it. At 1 p.m. Saturday, May 26, Pollard will welcome home cooks to a lunch with cooking demonstration and tasting. Students in the $30 class will learn how to prep, cook and plate dishes from Epic’s strawberry menu and enjoy samplings served family-style, along with wine pairings.

Pollard’s four-course, spring strawberries prix fixe menu, served through May 31 ($48 per person; $70 with wine pairings), includes foie gras pate with strawberry-rhubarb compote, lavender salt and brioche; strawberry and leek salad with crispy ham, dry jack cheese and almond vinaigrette; fried quail with hominy, thyme jus and strawberry gastrique; and a strawberry coupe featuring ice cream, sorbet, coulis and milk chocolate.
