A group of renegade culinary students decide to take the industry by storm. Then a death row inmate requests their brunch for his final meal. That’s the premise of Annoyance Theatre’s new musical, “Brunch Punkx,” opening Saturday, March 31. Director Irene Marquette (“Lights Out, Alma!” and “40 Whacks”) and musical director Lisa McQueen (“Tiny Fascists” and “Swear Jar”) are behind the show, which, producers say, “straddles the lines between tasty and tasteful, art and crime, breakfast and lunch.”

The show runs at 10 p.m. every Saturday through May 5 at the theater in Uptown. Tickets are $20.

A special brunch performance takes place at noon April 1 in conjunction with Marigold restaurant. Brunch and the show are $30.
