In a custom born centuries ago in Sicily, Chicago Roman Catholics today celebrate the Feast of St. Joseph, a day of charity and thanksgiving. The Lenten holiday table focuses on meatless fare, and a special dessert, zeppole, also called sfinge and bigne di San Giuseppe, fritters or cream puffs filled with pastry cream, often features.

Quartino Ristorante in River North celebrates La Festa di San Giuseppe today with complimentary zeppole for diners all day, right up till 1 a.m.
