Have a sangria fiesta in River North

Wine, fruit, liqueurs, spices and brandy … it’s National Sangria Day tomorrow, and they’re pulling out all those ingredients and more at National 27 in River North, where from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, the pan-Latin restaurant and bar will be celebrating by pouring seven different versions of house-made sangria.

Look for traditional spiced red, white and sparkling versions of the Latin refresher, plus passion-ginger, mango-lime, orange-cranberry and sparkling grapefruit sangria for $5 per glass (regularly $9) or $15 per six-serving pitcher (regularly $27).

That said, we have to wonder: Why isn’t National Sangria Day in some warmer season?
