Break out of your entertainment routine and check out these options for dining with live music and no cover.

  1. Retro Bistro in Mount Prospect showcases Donny DeMarco singing light jazz — from Frank Sinatra to Elton John — from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays.

  2. Carnivale in River West serves up Latin music to go with its soulful Latin cuisine from 7:30 to 11 p.m. every Wednesday.

  3. Benny’s Chop House in River North presents a lineup of jazz and soul performers from 7 to 11 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, and 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

  4. Rosebud Prime has added live piano music by local artists on Saturday nights. The Loop steakhouse also offers weekday prime times with soft piano melodies from 4:30 to 6 p.m. and free hors d’oeuvres.

  5. “Late at Elate” in River North, 9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays, features DJ Lego spinning cutting-edge sounds plus music by a local jazz artist. Chef Mike Noll chimes in with a late-night dining menu served through midnight.
