Seven free wine tastings in Chicago

Wine tasting


Drink up, Chicago. It’s free!

Wine lovers can sample a variety of vintages at these tastings.

  1. Giota Englisis of Athenee Importers and Tassos Ballas of Domaine Hatzimichalis lead a tasting of their Greek wines at 5 p.m. Thursday, June 23, at Lush Wine and Spirits in West Town. The tasting is free, but call for reservations.

  2. Wines of Veneto pours free prosecco at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, at Benny’s Chop House in River North.

  3. From 2 to 5 p.m. every Saturday through Aug. 27, Vino 100 Chicago in Logan Square hosts a free wine tasting, pouring two white and two red wines that change weekly, with owner Steve Laux on hand to talk about the selections.

  4. Just Grapes in the West Loop pours free samples from 2 to 4 p.m. every Saturday.

  5. Schaefer’s in Skokie offers tastings from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each Saturday.

  6. Taste Food and Wine in Rogers Park offers samples from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays and Fridays.

  7. Wine Discount Center, with locations on the Clybourn Corridor, Barrington, Forest Park and Highland Park, pours 10 wines from noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
