Jazz for Japan benefit coming up in Lakeview

Some of Chicago’s finest jazz musicians are helping out Japanese earthquake relief efforts by providing the entertainment from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, May 1, at
Erwin: An American Cafe and Bar’s “Jazz for Japan” benefit. Do your part by making a reservation for dinner at the Lakeview restaurant and bringing a donation of any amount for the Chicago chapter of the Red Cross, to be accepted at the door.

Performers include vocalists Audrey Morris, Lindy Endres, Sarah Marie Young, Christy Bennett, Rebecca Sullivan, Arlene Bardelle, Marley Dzis, Amy Cole, Paul Marinaro, Rose Colella, Amanda Crumley, Angel Spiccia, Keri Johnsrud, Solitaire Miles, Gina McLaughlin and Elaine Dame, with guitarists Dan Effland, Casey Neilsen, Zvonimir Tot, Andy Pratt, Andrew Murray Trim and Peter Lerner, bassist Patrick Mulchahy, horn players Stephen Koerner and Mark O’Conner and percussionists Paul Abella, Melodica and Rachel Shaftman.
