Whether you’re on the North Side, the South Side or in the suburbs, you don’t have to cook your own Thanksgiving dinner. Chicago-area restaurants offer bountiful holiday feasts for almost every budget.

Call for hours and menu details. Reservations are highly recommended if not required everywhere. Many restaurants also offer complete Thanksgiving dinners for carry out — several days’ notice is typically required.

  1. 33 Club in Old Town offers a big buffet with turkey and trimmings, honey-ginger-glazed ham and a variety of sides and desserts, $33.95, $13.95 children.

  2. Allgauer’s Restaurant in Alsip serves a Thanksgiving champagne brunch buffet with seatings at noon, 1, 2 and 3 p.m., $30.95, $24.95 seniors, $16.95 children.

  3. Ann Sather in Andersonville and Lakeview and Ann Sather Cafe in Lakeview serves a traditional Thanksgiving meal with roasted turkey, celery-sage stuffing, soup, pie and all the trimmings, $18.95, $10.95 children. With 48 hours’ notice, you can order it to go.

  4. The Bennett-Curtis House in Grant Park, Ill., serves a traditional turkey dinner from noon to 4 p.m. with ham or roast beef alternatives, $18.95, $7.95 kids.

  5. Big Jones in Andersonville offers a Southern-style holiday feast with such entree choices as deep-fried Gunthorp Farms turkey with onion-thyme dressing, braised Niman Ranch short ribs with mashed potatoes, seared Faroe Island steelhead with cornbread dressing and potato-leek-rosemary strudel, $46. $20 kids.

  6. Birch River Grill in Arlington Heights serves a four-course dinner based on maple-glazed free-range turkey breast with apple-sausage cornbread stuffing, $25.95, $13.95 kids.

  7. Cafe des Architectes on the Gold Coast serves a four-course prix fixe, $70. Entree choices are Kauffman Farm Turkey with chestnut stuffing, wild striped bass, beef tenderloin or parmesan gnocchi. Dine at the last seating (8 p.m.) and receive a $20 gift certificate. The restaurant also offers carry-out Thanksgiving dinner with advance order.

  8. Carlucci in Downers Grove serves a three-course menu with such entree choices as roast turkey and traditional sides, roasted pork tenderloin wrapped in pancetta and herbs, radiatore with grilled chicken breast and more, $29.95, $14.95 children.

  9. Chicago Cut Steakhouse in River North hosts a family-style dinner centered on maple-glazed roasted turkey with cornbread stuffing, $40, $20 children.

  10. The Chicago Diner in Northalsted serves a vegan Thanksgiving dinner at four seatings from noon to 6 p.m., $37.99, $22.99 children. Call immediately — they are nearly sold out — or order Thanksgiving dinner to go.

  11. Chicago Firehouse in the South Loop features a Thanksgiving buffet with turkey, prime rib and much more, $45.99, kids $19.99. Dinner to go is available, too.

  12. Chuck’s Southern Comforts Cafe in Burbank offers noon and 3 p.m. seating for a buffet of smoked turkey, ham, pulled pork, sides and dessert, $18.99, $11.99 children.

  13. Coco Pazzo Cafe in Streeterville serves a four-course, traditional Thanksgiving with an Italian twist. Choices include wild mushroom risotto or house made ravioli and herb-roasted turkey breast or pan-roasted whitefish and all the trimmings, $42.

  14. Courtright’s in Willow Springs offers a special holiday menu.

  15. Deca Restaurant + Bar in Streeterville serves a lavish Thanksgiving brunch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., $105 and $40 for children, plus a three-course prix fixe centering on butter-basted turkey with apple thyme dressing from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., $45.

  16. Deleece Grill Pub in Lakeview serves a four-course prix fixe with entree choices of roasted turkey, whitefish, smoked pork chop or grilled hanger steak, $35.

  17. Four Seasons Chicago in Streeterville offers a lavish buffet featuring roast Amish turkey breast, herb-crusted leg of lamb and roast prime rib from noon to 5 p.m., $115, $35 children.

  18. Glenwood Oaks in Glenwood offers a roast turkey or ham dinner, noon to 6 p.m., $16.99, $7.99 children.

  19. Grotto Italian Steakhouse in Oak Brook presents an all-day Thanksgiving buffet offering turkey, prime rib and ham and much more, $40, $20 children (ages 6 and under eat free). Family dinners to go are available too.

  20. Harry Caray’s Italian Steakhouse in River North, Rosemont and Lombard serves a choice of turkey or prime rib, $27.95–$39.95. Suburban locations include an all-you-can-eat sides buffet.

  21. Horizon Cafe in Lakeview offers a four-course dinner with turkey and trimmings, $18.99 ($20.99 for carry out or delivery).

  22. Italiasia in River North offers an Italian-Asian-inspired Thanksgiving buffet including dishes such as pasta fagioli and sausage soup and Oriental crab and shrimp salad along with roast turkey and more, 24.95, $15.95 children.

  23. Jacky’s on Prairie in Evanston serves a three-course dinner, $39. Entree choices are free-range turkey au jus, Rushing Waters trout a la meuniere, shiitake walnut loaf or Slagel Family steak.

  24. Karma in Mundelein offers a three-course roast turkey breast dinner with sides, $23.95, $11.95 kids.

  25. Kit Kat Lounge Supper Club in Northalsted asks Thanksgiving diners to donate canned goods for the hungry. In exchange, it offers a $10 special of roasted turkey breast with whipped Yukon Gold potatoes, green-bean casserole, cornbread stuffing and sage gravy from 5:30 p.m. to midnight and half-price dinner and drinks to donors.

  26. Lawry’s the Prime Rib in River North serves up roasted prime ribs of beef and fresh roasted turkey carved from its rolling carts, beginning at $28. Thanksgiving to go also available with pre-orders.

  27. Lockwood in the Loop presents a bountiful Thanksgiving buffet featuring maple honey molasses roasted turkey and mustard-glazed and clove-studded country ham, among much more, $58; $48 seniors; $25 kids 7–12; free for kids under 6.

  28. Markethouse in Streeterville offers a dinner featuring Maple Blis thyme-mopped Miller Farms young turkey with heirloom-apple brioche stuffing, sides and dessert, $28 (kids, $14).

  29. McCormick and Schmick’s in the Loop, Oak Brook, Rosemont , Schaumburg, Skokie and Streeterville offers a traditional three-course turkey dinner, $22.95.

  30. Mercat a la Planxa in the Loop hosts a four-course, Catalonian-style Thanksgiving dinner centered on smoked turkey and chestnut stuffing with foie gras, $65, plus $20 for wine pairings.

  31. Nix in Streeterville serves Thanksgiving dinner with a choice of such plated entrees as roast turkey breast with traditional sides or stuffed pork loin Milanese, and a buffet of appetizers, salads, sides and desserts, $49.

  32. O’H American Grill in Rosemont offers a lavish Thanksgiving buffet including carved-to-order turkey and honey-baked ham, $29.95, $14.95 children ages 5–10, free ages 4 and under.

  33. Pensiero in Evanston serves a four-course prix fixe with such entrees as a roasted turkey with focaccia sausage stuffing, new york strip steak, Lake Superior whitefish with artichokes and potato, Stone Farm angus beef short ribs and soft polenta, roasted Alaskan halibut with porcini dressing or grilled portabello mushroom and farrosotto with roasted vegetables, $49. Three seatings, beginning at noon.

  34. Ramada Lake Shore Cafe in Hyde Park offers a buffet of traditional favorites and soul food including sliced turkey with cornbread dressing, fried chicken, blackened catfish, braised ox tails and more, $25.95, $12.95 kids.

  35. Shaw’s Crab House in Schaumburg serves a buffet of traditional Thanksgiving dishes, $45. Kids 12 and younger eat free (two children per paying adult). A Thanksgiving Day donation will be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

  36. Sixteen in River North offers a festive Thanksgiving brunch buffet from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., $115, $35 for children 8 and younger. Aa five-course dinner menu, available from 6 to 8:30 p.m., includes pork belly, butter-poached lobster with foie gras and pheasant duo, $125 ($185 with wine pairings). Sixteen also offers take-home dinners serving six to eight, $345–$425, plus a la carte options.

  37. Smith & Wollensky in River North serves a three-course holiday dinner with herb-roasted turkey and trimmings, $40, $20 kids.

  38. The Spirit of Chicago cruise boat offers a Thanksgiving dinner buffet on Lake Michigan, leaving from Navy Pier, $66.90.

  39. SugarToad in Naperville’s three-course Thanksgiving menu offers entree choices of sous-vide turkey and crispy skin with open-faced ravioli of greens and confit turkey leg, butter-poached lobster with butternut squash and white beans or crispy eggs with spaghetti squash, mushrooms and parmesan, plus plenty of extras, $45.

  40. Tavern on Rush on the Gold Coast serves a traditional Thanksgiving turkey dinner, $38.95; $15.95 children.

  41. Texas de Brazil in River North and Schaumburg adds Thanksgiving menu items including roasted turkey breast to the regular menu.

  42. Tuscany in Wheeling offers a Thanksgiving dinner featuring turkey, sides and a slice of pumpkin pie, $24.95. Turkey dinners to go are available as well.

  43. Whitney’s Cafe in Oak Lawn features a Thanksgiving buffet with turkey, prime rib, glazed ham and more, 1 to 5 p.m., $25, $12 children.

  44. Zed451 in River North serves an all-you-can-eat feast including such dishes as roasted turkey with cranberry sauce and red eye gravy; turkey roulade stuffed with sweet sausage stuffing and turkey veloute; and bourbon-glazed ham, $44.

  45. Zest on the Magnificent Mile offers an all-day buffet of traditional holiday favorites with global influences, $55 with a champagne cocktail (10:30 a.m.–3 p.m.) or two glasses of sparkling wine (3–9:30 p.m.); kids 5 to 12, $23 with orange juice.
