Peripatetic Chef Dudley Nieto, who has cooked everywhere from Adobo Grill to Zapatista, has a new Mexican restaurant home, La Fonda del Gusto in Wicker Park. Sign up today for the grand opening party, 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 10.

The event celebrates 100 years of the Mexican Revolution with “Camino a la Revolucion,” an exhibition of photography from the Casasola/Brehme archives, music by Benjamin Anaya and free hors d’oeuvres and cocktails created by Nieto. Call for reservations, required by day’s end today.

Meanwhile, the $20 El Gran Jubileo Tequila tasting at Zocalo Restaurant and Tequila Bar in River North that was billing a summer ceviche demonstration with Nieto at 6:30 p.m. Thursday will feature Chef Gustavo Casteñada instead. The event includes the demonstration, two drink tickets, the tequila tasting, passed appetizers and a raffle ticket for a chance to win Zocalo gift cards, El Gran Jubileo Tequila and more. Make a reservation to stay late for Zocalo’s weekly “Dine at Nine” promotion, offering half off all food items after 9 p.m. (with reservation mentioning the offer).
