There’s no food at his cafe. Chicago mentalist Fred Zimmerman’s “Psyche-Out Cafe” is an evening of mind games, fascinating stories, experiments to test your psychic abilities and demonstrations of ESP that provide a glimpse into the secret world of “psychic” practitioners. The Wednesday, March 3, event is the first of two special March “Magic Chicago” shows hosted by Robert Charles and Benjamin Barnes, with Jeanette Andrews in Edgewater.

“You’ll leave wondering whether he really was able to read your inner-most thoughts, says Barnes.
On March 10, Las Vegas magic sensation Jeff McBride will perform at Magic Chicago. “His innovative magic combines masks, martial arts, Kabuki Theater, jaw-dropping sleight-of-hand, myths and magical stories from around the globe,” Charles says. “You might have seen Jeff McBride perform on television or at Caesar’s Palace, Palace Station or any number of casinos. Now’s your chance to see him up close, in Magic Chicago’s intimate setting.”
Tickets for the March 3 show with Fred Zimmerman are $20; the March 10 event with Jeff McBride is $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Both “Magic Chicago” shows take place at 7:30 p.m. at City Lit Theater in Edgewater.
Start your magic evening with dinner at the Edgewater Beach Cafe, an intimate French spot less than half a mile away that will make you feel as if you’ve been transported to a vanished world.
