Oh la la! Francophiles won’t want to miss this weekend’s Fall French Market at Lycee Francais de Chicago in Lincoln Park. The benefit bazaar offers more than 60 vendors, culinary demonstrations from top Chicago chefs and French fare.
Events kick off at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, with a cocktail party featuring sparkling wine, hors d’oeuvres and a preview of the weekend’s market goods. Tickets are $30 in advance, $40 at the door.
The French Market takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults, free for children.
Look for cheeses, pastries, confections and other foods from such vendors as Gerhard’s Desserts, City Olive, Marion Street Cheese, Al Dente Pasta, Katherine Anne Confections, Necessity Baking Co., SenTeaMental, St. Roger’s Patisserie, Besto Pesto, Catering – Chocolate, Les Tartelettes and Organic Imports, plus collectibles, jewelry, artwork, antiques and housewares. A children’s pavilion ($10 per child or $15 per family) will keep les enfants busy while mama and papa shop.
