Night out: All-star cabaret gala in Lincoln Park Sunday

Chicago Cabaret Professionals honoree Karen Mason singing “Everything’s Coming Up Roses.”

“Put On Your Sunday Clothes” Oct. 11 for the hottest cabaret show of the year. The doors open at 5:45 p.m. at Park West in Lincoln Park for the annual gala when the Chicago Cabaret Professionals honor their own.

Karen Mason, Broadway star of “Hairspray” and “Mama Mia”; Bob Moreen, musical director, pianist, singer and arranger; Suzanne Petri, singer and actress; and vocalist Bradford Thacker will be honored at the event. Chicago diva Nan Mason hosts the gala, which features performances from the honorees and more than score of other top local artists, including Anne and Mark Burnell, Joan Curto, Rob Dorn, Beckie Menzie and Tom Michael, Heather Moran, Daryl Nitz and Denise Tomasello.

Through today, tickets are $45 for reserved table and booth seating and $25 general admission, bar and balcony seating; at the door, prices will be $50 and $30, respectively. Discounted parking will be available at 2150 Lincoln Park West. For more information, call (312) 409-3106.

Lincoln Park offers plenty of dining options, but many aren’t too efficient at getting you in and out fast before a show. Near Park West, the old standby of R.J. Grunts has a huge, all-you-can-eat salad bar that lets you choose your own pace, and they accept reservations.
