I first tried De Jaeger Snail Caviar over a year ago. I do like it, it has a very interesting and delicate taste I have found nowhere else and France is starting to go mad with this !
As said by Chef Duffy, it only costs a 1/3 of beluga caviar, it is the caviar of the forest rather than the caviar of the sea as they say in France.

My daughter and I had aquariums, and we bought some snails. These little stinkers were apple snails, and they would climb out of the water and lay eggs above the water line- even on the lid of the tank! They were pink and numerous! Not edible, but lots of them! Can't say I'm excited to try snail caviar.

I just don't get along with caviar. In fact, I've only tasted it twice: Once going down, once coming up.

I honestly don't know if that 'earthy' taste is right for me. Most caviar tends to be too salty, but I think I'd still prefer that to tasting like the floor of a forest.
