Jazz duo Heather Moran and Gabriel Datcu bring their dynamic sound to The Waterfront Cafe in Edgewater at 8 p.m. Friday, July 24.
This hidden gem in Berger Park offers a simple menu, beer and wine and weekend jazz performances 20 feet from the water’s edge.
Chicago singer Moran, who also performs with the trio 3Girls3, was recently acclaimed for her tribute to Rosemary Clooney. Datcu came to Chicago after success in the Budapest jazz scene. Expect classic tunes like “Fly Me to the Moon” and “God Bless the Child.”
The Waterfront is a hidden gem. Situated on the lakefront at Berger Park, it offers extraordinary salads in an impeccable location. With Metropolis coffee on tap and hand-crafted shakes, this seasonal cafe in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood is not to be missed. My experience? We stop at Waterfront nearly as often as we take our boys to the neighboring “Lago Parque.” The falafels are great as are the fish and chips. Enjoy!
