River Valley Ranch, Slades Corners, Wis.
In its series of monthly dinners, City Provisions Supper Club takes a day trip to a Wisconsin fungi farm Saturday, July 11.
They’ll be heading up to River Valley Ranch in Slades Corners, Wis., near Lake Geneva. Host Eric Rose has expanded his family farm from growing white button, crimini and portobella mushrooms, grown without the use of pesticides or chemicals, and added a creative kitchen making pickled products, salsas, sauces and spreads.
Gabriel Magliaro of Chicago’s Half Acre Brewing Company will be along for the tour with some of his company’s beers, and diners will also sample cheeses from Roth Kase in Monroe, Wis.
The bus leaves City Provisions at 2 p.m. Saturday, returning around 11 p.m. The trip is $125; call for reservations — seating is limited.
