Dancing the Lobster Quadrille

Will you, won’t you, will you, won’t you, won’t you join the dance?
You can really have no notion how delightful it will be
When they take us up and throw us, with the lobsters, out to sea!

LobsterIt’s that time of year again, when Maine lobsters start dancing across our plates.

  • The lobster festival at Shaw’s Crab House in River North and Schaumburg, through July 31, highlights “Rocky’s Lobster Deal,” a three-course family-style lobster dinner, $34.99 per person, featuring clam chowder or lobster bisque, a 1-pound whole Maine lobster each, corn on the cob, Red Bliss potatoes, coleslaw and Key lime pie. Other lobster specials also feature. Dine at Shaw’s during the fest, and you’ll have a chance to win a “Rockin’ Lobster” dinner party for 15.
  • Smith & Wollensky also features lobster specials all summer, including a $9 lobster salad appetizer and a $39 dinner featuring a 2 1/2-pound Maine lobster with corn and roasted Yukon Gold potatoes.
  • Friday through Sunday, June 12–14, $20 will get you two 1-pound Maine lobsters at Pappadeux Seafood Kitchen in Arlington Heights and Westmont. Two is the minimum, but hearty eaters can order more at $10 each.
  • Also, don’t overlook Sabatino’s in Irving Park and their lobster special every Wednesday night.
