Hey, culture vultures, this week is free at the Art Institute of Chicago. Celebrating its new Modern Wing, the museum is offering free admission through May 22.

However, they do invite visitors give back to Chicago by bringing a canned good or nonperishable food item to contribute to the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

While you’re there, lunch in Spiaggia chef Tony Mantuano‘s brand-new restaurant in the Modern Wing. Named for its third-floor location, Terzo Piano is open for lunch daily and until 8 p.m. on Thursdays, with a menu of sandwiches, pastas and Mantuano’s contemporary Italian entrees.

New admission fees go into effect at the Art Institute on May 23, but Thursday and Friday evenings from 5 to 9 p.m. will be free from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
