Singer Ann McGregor provides a musical reflection on how food brings us all together, tonight and tomorrow at Davenport's.
“We all celebrate milestones and holidays at the dinner table, and some of our closest connections happen over good food and wine,” says singer Ann McGregor, who’s put together a collection of food-oriented music that she’ll be performing tonight and tomorrow at Davenport’s in Wicker Park, with Bob Moreen on piano. “My show is about how food brings us all together.”
Her delicious musical menu includes such numbers as “Mango,” “Tacos, Enchiladas and Beans,” “Shoo-fly Pie and Apple Pan Dowdy,” “Sweet Kentucky Ham” and “In a Restaurant by the Sea.”
The show starts at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. tomorrow. A $15 cover charge and a two-drink minimum apply. Reservations are suggested.
Of course, you’ll want to eat before this show. Handy spots for stoking up nearby include Cafe Bionda for Italian comfort food and the BYOB Pot Pan for Thai-style soups and stir-fries.
