Weekend Planner June 6-June 8: Farm Roast, Negroni Social, Bargain Wine, and Free Donuts

Weekend Planner June 6-June 8: Farm Roast

Slow Food Chicago and Goose Island once again team up for their annual roast, but this year instead of focusing on pig, they're showcasing a range of Midwestern animals prepared by some of Chicago's finest chefs. Taking place June 8 at Goose Island Beer Company's new barrel warehouse (605 N. Sacramento), the event features food from Wood, Dia de Los Tamales, Eataly, Browntrout, Bang Bang Pie Shop, and more. Heartland Cafe will provide a vegetarian dish. And of course, there will be beer. The event runs from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and tickets can be purchased here

Negroni Social

In line with Negroni Week, which is apparently a thing, 2 Sparrows is hosting a Negroni Social on June 6 from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. For $20, guests will get the chance to mingle and sip Negronis and nosh on snacks from chef Gregory Ellis. Both traditional and custom Negronis will be on hand for the event and during Negroni Week the restaurant is donating $1 from every Negroni to the Greater Chicago Food Depository. So drink up for a good cause! Tickets for the event can be purchased by calling 773-234-2320.

Free Donuts for Donut Day

June 6 is National Donut Day and in honor of the deep-fried occasion, Do-Rite Donuts will be doling out free buttermilk old fashioned doughnuts to anyone who shows the Hailo app on their phone.
